Cinematographer Nizar Shafi, who has worked in a handful of films in Kollywood and Tollywood, has turned director with the Tamil-Telugu bilingual 7, which is an investigative thriller.

“The film has seven major characters and there will be seven female characters who drive the plot. That’s why we have titled the film 7,” begins Nizar, who is also handling the cinematography of this film.

Talking about the story, he informs, “A series of complaints are lodged by different women on a character called Parthiban, who they claim to be their husband and who has gone missing. Actor Rahman plays the police officer who investigates this case, and what he finds out in the end about the mystery is what the story is all about.”

Regina Cassandra, Nandita Swetha, Anisha Ambrose (who acted in Vanjagar Ulagam), Sunita Chaudhary, Aditi Arya and Poojitha Ponnada play the female leads. There is also another female character — the seventh lead — whom the makers are keeping as a suspense for now.

Tollywood actor Havish will be making his debut with this film, and he will be seen in the character of Parthiban. Chaithan Bharadwaj, who composed the music of last year’s hit Telugu film RX-100, is the music director of this film, which has National Award-winner KL Praveen as the editor.
