Debutant director KV Kathirvelu, who is busy with the last leg of shooting of his Sasikumar-Nikki Galrani-starrer Raja Vamsam, is confident about the film striking a chord with the audience. A former assistant to Sundar C, the filmmaker avers that the movie has ample elements that could engage the viewers.

He says, “Though the film is a full-on entertainer, it also touches upon some relevant issues in our society. I’m sure the audience who watch the film will regret having missed certain things in their lives. I’ve emphasised the importance of embracing something important to lead a happy life. Also, the unpredictable climatic conditions we have been facing of late will also be highlighted in it. We have places which get washed away due to heavy rains, and on the other hand, there are places where people keep waiting for one drop of water.”

Kathirvelu says he considers himself lucky to have landed a chance to direct more than 40 established artistes in his debut. “The film has an ensemble cast, including Yogi Babu, Thambi Ramaiah, Singam Puli, Rekha, Nirosha and many others. We have shot the movie in Pollachi, Chennai and Bangkok.

Sasikumar  plays a man who belongs to this big, joint family, which is held in high regard by the villagers. Nikki essays the daughter of the chairman of a leading software company. We are planning to release the film in August,” he adds.
