On his decision to produce a Tamil film, Kapoor had said in a statement: “Tamil industry has always been special for me. In fact, it’s been a long journey involving Ajith to collaborate for a film, which he took up as a sheer commitment from the time he shared screen space with my wife in English Vinglish. Accordingly, we both earnestly searched for suitable content that will add a special mileage to our respective works. We are now delighted to have joined hands for Pink.
Ajith’s latest release Viswasam emerged as the second top-grossing film ever with Rs 130 crore total and it has collected a record of Rs 185 crores becoming the highest-earning movie of Ajith in his career.
